Mill River Crossing
Mill River Crossing is comprised of 8 market rate units and 86 units of affordable Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) program family housing in New Haven, Connecticut: 30 one-bedroom, 53 two-bedroom, 8 three-bedroom, and 3 four-bedroom units. The multi-family project is a public-private partnership between Housing Authority of New Haven/Elm City Communities (ECC) and The Glendower Group, a nonprofit (501C3) development corporation at the forefront of leading the private sector market in affordable housing. With the goal to create, renovate, restore and construct affordable housing communities in a safe environment that residents can feel pride in, The Glendower Group brought Mill River Crossing into its redevelopment portfolio in 2016.
One of the most crucial decisions in any multi-family project is the flooring. Chris Courtenay of Apollo Distributing Company worked with Glendower and ECC to place nearly 100,000 square feet of Aspecta Five flooring throughout Mill River Crossing – hallways, public areas and residences – based on its style, performance and longevity.

Style: Bromley: Bold graining and sophisticated colors make a true statement without overpowering the space. Treated Oak: Wood planks “fumed” to change the natural color into a deep, classic look, with translucent wash bringing out its rich graining. Washed Concrete: Tiles Imitating the smooth and porous surface of well-layered cement with subtle washed colors adding an extra dimension.
Care & Maintenance: The no-wax floor is easy to clean throughout the day, and planks and tiles can be easily replaced, if need be.
Durability & Performance: 100 percent virgin vinyl; 28 mil wear layer; 3.2 mm gauge; ceramic bead finish. 25-year non-prorated commercial and 10-year pro-rated labor warranties.

Sustainability: Phthalate-free and formaldehyde-free. FloorScore® certified for good indoor air quality. Health Product Declaration (HPD) v2.0, Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) and Declare Label have been published for Aspecta Five, which disclose the material ingredients of the product. Aspecta’s two Asian manufacturing partners each received the first-ever JUST social justice labels for Chinese facilities. The Aspecta REVISE program takes back jobsite scraps for recycling into other vinyl products.
